Gesture Cube: Operation of gestures
Touch screens have become more popular than ever. The operation of a touch screen makes a cursor or mouse obsolete. But what happens if the flick of a finger touching the screen is unnecessary? This illustrates the concept Gesture Cube, developed by the company Ident Technology AG, Zinosign and Lunar Europe.
The Gesture Cube is a cube with five computer monitors and responds to non-contact movements of the hand. By wiping movements of the hand can be, for example, an application from the top of the screen to draw on the side. Or you can scroll with your finger through the air to browse the library to get information from the Internet or listen to your favorite music. Intuitively leads to the correct motion: By spreading the fingers, for example, an image is enlarged or you will hand down to lower the volume.
Due to the manageable size of the entertainment cubes can be worn from room to room, can be used for listening to music in the kitchen for reading recipes or in the bathroom. Greasy fingerprints on the screen, then it is certainly no more. The Gesture Cube was presented last week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to the public. It remains to be seen whether it will enforce the concept, it is always innovative, and shows how this can work in three-dimensional gesture-control habitat.
