E-Book Reader: Sony PRS-300
Sony plans to offer its e-book reader PRS-300 from the end of February. Previously marketed as a beginner-reader device, designed in the U.S. only. The price is according to the company at around 200 euros.

The device features a 5-inch screen without touch functionality and is therefore smaller than his two brothers PRS-505 and PRS-600. The display can display 8 greyscales. The PRS-300 is operated via buttons on the surface of the housing. According to Sony, it will be available in black, silver and pink.
Internally, the device has 512 MB of memory, which according to the manufacturer should provide space for more than 300 books. However it can not expand the capacity of memory cards. Data that is absorbed via the computer through the USB interface. These texts are in the ePub format, supported BBEB Book, PDF, TXT, RTF and DOC. Multimedia content such as music or pictures can not be displayed or played.
One battery charge is sufficient, according to Sony for about 6,800 pages. The charging through the USB port on a computer is given as 4 hours. A charger is not included and must be purchased separately.
