With Darkfield Logitech mouse is introducing a new technology: it allows to use the rodent even on transparent surfaces. We have had a first model of the Performance Mouse MX glide over the glass.

Performance Mouse Logitech MX is one of the first mouse, which are based on the Darkfield technology. The principle behind it is ingenious: Darkfield operates on the principle of darkfield microscopy, a special variant of light microscopy. These microscopic particles are detected and micro scratches on very slippery surfaces – the sensor in the mouse sees this as a dark background with white spots – the particles. He can analyze the movements on the basis of the spots and calculate where the user has moved the mouse. During the normal scanning of the laser mouse sensor but also covers the details of the respective surface. Then offer glass and other glossy surfaces but no irregularities, detects a normal laser sensor is not enough detail.

Haptics: Is good in the hand

The latter is absent – for example when traveling – you are the right place with the glass glides here.
